«Iris»

Distant lands
Of eternal sun,
Where orchids bloom
In lavish splendor.
But I keep dreaming
Of a little khutor,
The Don at dawn,
My kuren in the garden.
Bright swarms
Of tender irises—
A bee with a velvet back Hovers and circles around.
A narrow ribbon
Of an overgrown path—
The very one that led me
Far away from home.

Iris! Shy iris!
Iris, my proud flower.
I admired you at dawn,
And tenderly whispered:
«Grant me a sip of happiness.»
A familiar scent—
The dizzying breath of the meadow grass.
Slowly fading
Is the night star,
And in the rhythmic clatter
The wheels flash by—
Rushing somewhere
In the glowing lights of the train.
God will not forsake,
Friends will not judge!
But will my beloved
Wait for me?
Only in spring,
A little flock of irises,
I know, will
Remember me.

Other works by the artist
It demands not only mastery but also intuition, as the outcome is always unpredictable. Nevertheless, Tatyana Sipovich is able to convey not only the outward beauty, but also the inner melody of every subject.
Hot easel enamel is a complex and rare technique.
