Evgeniya Kregzhde was born on July 15, 1982, in Riga. She grew up in a family of successful educators in the exact sciences. However, Evgeniya herself attended a theater studio during her school years and dreamed of becoming an actress. Her parents allowed their daughter to try applying to a theatre institute, which she successfully accomplished on her first attempt.
She graduated from the B.V. Shchukin Theatre Institute in 2005 (class of M.B. Borisov). That same year, she was accepted into the Vakhtangov Theatre, where she made her debut immediately in the leading role of the play
Mademoiselle Nitouche.
