Oil on canvas, 80х60, 2010

«…and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn before Him…»

                           Revelation, ch. 1, verse 7
He who persecuted Thee shall call upon Thee,
The hour of repentance and dread shall come,
And, falling at Thy feet, shall kiss them,
In tears of remorse upon the fatal block.
With the only hope in Thee,
When there is no strength left even to hope,
Only from Thee, groaning and praying,
To beg forgiveness at the walls of the grave.
And You, O Lord, will look upon us in the bitter hour,
And You will be just in Your sole decree.
He who knew this then, knows it even now,
And, in despair, believes without a doubt.
